Megan says she feels lucky to have been born into 2 very sensitive families. Her mother's side is extremely clairsentient, being able to feel what is going on with another or just in a room.
Her father's side of the family has a history of very strong clairvoyance - clear seeing. These two are definitely her 2 strongest clairs, and the others are developing or have developed at a high speed. This side of the family was also devout Catholic, and while there didn't have to be a conflict, there was confusion about the gifts. Megan's great uncle Jack Riley, who was a psychic, medium and healer from the 1930's-70's told her father when he was very young that "it was in the blood" and that her dad had it too.
The earliest memory that Megan has is from about 3 years old, with a spirit at the edge of her bed. This continued as she grew up; as family members would pass on, she would see and be able to talk to them. It wasn't until she started school that she realized that to everyone else this was not "normal".
As a teenager the sensitivity seemed so great and so overwhelming that she intentionally shut it down. This was effective for a few years though it began to feel as though pressure was building up. As a young adult Megan resigned herself to being at the effect of her gifts. She could see energies, colors, auras, and spirits. She could hear whispers as well as thoughts of the people around her. Being in large crowds was especially difficult and overwhelming.
Megan tried the corporate world where again the overwhelming psychic noise was sometimes too much. She did not realize until much later that there were things she could do to turn the volume down. Where currently in Hollywood there is more exposure to psychics and mediums, this is an area that frustrates her. The only role model many people have without looking further is the character from the show "Medium", who seems at the effect of everything that happens to her. When the traditional corporate world was too much, Megan tried other avenues such as selling transformational education. That didn't work. In order to deal with the schedule required, she felt that she had to disengage from her family and spirituality. As a result she resented the choices that she had made to work there, which came out in her work. She managed a retirement residence even 24/7 for a while. While again she made some beautiful connections with seniors, she still felt disconnected. Add to this that most attracted to this field are more often of fundamentalist background with a need to share. This always frustrated her because sharing herself wasn't something she felt she could do. For example, to say the word, "meditate" it seemed like she got a look as if she had horns and a pitchfork. One effect a lot of Clairsentient sensitives do is to feel a situation and morph into what they feel is the right way. In this situation, she morphed again and instead said "pray". This changing herself so others would not be uncomfortable became more and more of an integrity issue. If this company wanted her to give so much time, energy, effort and require sleep deprivation, it also needed to be acceptable to share herself, her discoveries and her passions.
In an act of providence, Megan's parents bought a reading with a woman they had found, Cyndi Dale. She had just finished reading a book, Callings: Finding and Following an Authentic Life by Gregg Levoy. There was one chapter about a Rinpoche who got his calling in a letter. His lineage had been discovered, and when he was 17 received a letter telling who he was and what to do with his life. She told Cyndi about this, and that she wanted a letter! She wanted something spelled out because if there were messages being sent to her she wasn't hearing them. Megan resonated with service of some sort, and yet it seemed everything she tried around service also required martyrdom in some form or another, which did not work for her. She felt that if her life was to be of service, it would be fulfilling not depleting.
Cyndi looked, and gave Megan her letter so to speak; to train as a psychic, healer, medium, teacher and author. So here she is! Over the years Megan has worked and trained with Shamans, Healers, Spiritual Teachers, Mediums, Yogis and her own guides, as well studying different religions.
